Open Space Meeting: "From Farm2Fork"

Wednesday the 5th of June 2013

The Topic: The Future Value Chain - from Farm to Fork

The coming decade the total Food Value Chain will be confronted with a number of irreversible trends. These trends will influence cooperation, competition and profitability of all partners in the Value Chain. Is our business ready for these changes? And especially in the Polish situation. The report "2020: the Future Value Chain" published in  2011 by The Consumer Goods Forum (TCGF) indicates  twelve global trends  for the entire FMCG business and call for actions in the areas of Sustainability, Shared Supply Chain, Consumer technology, Health and Wellbeing.

On our conference the participants will have the opportunity to address the topics which are relevant for them. By the typical design of the meeting, these topics will be clarified, discussed and prioritized while leading the participants to a concrete output: Which interventions in the Value Chain should be initiated, by whom and in which time perspective? What are their implications for Poland, challenges for our industry and guidelines for supply chain development priorities?

The conference is organised in the form of an Open Space meeting which is a very engaging process that is guaranteed to result in new insights and valuable contacts. At the end of the meeting we will make plans for further follow up in terms of study projects or action learning teams.

What is the Open Space meeting?

An Open Space meeting is a revolutionary formula of conferences and business meetings, a kind of anti-conference event, a conference without speakers and plenary halls. It is a marketplace where participants can learn and contribute while shopping for information and ideas.

It is an interactive meeting, actively moderated by facilitators and  ‘wavemakers’, addressing topics in various thematic groups and several subsequent rounds, followed by a summary. Everybody on the Open Space Meeting can participate in the discussion and become a speaker. No other meeting formula gives such kind of interaction and possibility to exchange knowledge, ideas and experience. In this formula a discussion and attendees interaction takes place instead of conventional presentations and one-way communication.

By organising this event, ECR Poland really breaks the standards and provides value! This Open Space Meeting takes place for the first time for our industry in Poland.

The Facilitators

During the meeting you will work with facilitators and ‘wavemakers’. Their function is to create a comfortable and inspiring working mood in order to guarantee the best possible and effective output. They have considerable experience in managing large group programs:

Mateusz Boruta, Managing Director, ECR Poland;

Redbad Klijnstra & Jacek Wiśniewski, Executive Coach & Communication trainers, Warsaw

Otto van Veen, Executive Program Manager Nyenrode Business University, the Netherlands

Moreover, you will meet some  academic coaches and experienced business people in the role of ‘wavemakers’. They will stimulate the discussion during the day and bridge the gap between business and science and practice.

Academic coaches and wavemakers on ECR Open Space Meeting:

Professor Dr. Ing. Jacques Reijniers, Nyenrode Business University, International expert in Sustainable Buying,

University of Life Sciences: Faculty members of the Faculty of Human Nutrition and Consumer Sciences,

Other wavemakers ( names will be announced on the day of the conference).

Who should participate?

The meeting is organised for enthusiastic,  front running, future leaders and and entrepreneurs from the entire Farm to Fork  Value Chain . We expect about 40 to 60 people.
